I loved Alexandra Moody's ARC series, so I jumped at the chance to read this new book of hers. I have a weak spot for YA romances with some kind of twist, and a high school version of The Bachelor really tickled my fancy. My greatest criticism of The Wrong Bachelor is that it was kind of predictable, but that's romance for you. Still, I love a good enemies-to-lovers trope. The concept of a high school charity dating show was also quite cool, though I'm not entirely sure how the idea got approved by the school board. The main characters -- popular, beautiful Madi and popular, handsome Cole -- seemed a little bland to me at first. Madi's only character traits were that she was nice and pretty, while Cole himself was kind of a douche. I had a hard time working out how Madi could ever fall for him when he seemed to take pleasure in making her angry, and I feared that the inevitable ending wouldn't be believable. In the end, however, Cole turned out to be really sweet, though I'm not quite sure when or why that shift happened. Nevertheless, it was nice to see that character development.A much more interesting character for me was Angus, the showrunner who would stop at nothing to amp up the drama. It was fascinating to see just how far he would go to get more votes and views, and his actions raised some really interesting questions about just how ethical reality shows like this are. I also loved how Angus's choices and the hype around the show caused some serious problems for Madi. (What can I say? I'm a sucker for drama.)Overall, The Wrong Bachelor is a fun and enjoyable read. It's one of those books that you can devour in just a few sittings for some nice light escapism. Even though it's obvious how things will end up, the joy is in the journey, not the destination.#Cadi4Eva!

Found this in my 'Suggested reading' list and took a chance on it. So glad I did! I love finding new authors who write clean romance. Not only is the writing well done, the characters were well developed, and the storyline was fun.I really connected with Madi and could feel her turmoil after being dragged through what she had. The side characters were also well done and added more depth and color to the story. I felt Laurie was a touch cliché, but there's a reason mean girls exit so frequently in YA novels. Sadly, they are out there in real life. So, it didnt pull me out too much. There is some light language, but nothing close to what you'd hear in the halls of HS. It is only sprinkled in, which I appreciated.I'd definitely recommend to friends! Awesome, fun, quick read :) Great job, Alexandra!

Overall a nice read and sweet romance. The characters are likeable and believable (even if you want to scream a bit at Madi's self-doubt sometimes), and the romance develops at a nice and believable pace. The ending, however, was a bit cringe-worthy. It seemed the author was set on creating another great conflict before ending the book in a sugar-sweet climax, and thus a situation, that should have been solve-able in a few minutes if Cole has opened his mouth, was blown WAY out of proportions...However, this artificial catastrophy was not as poorly carried out as in some of the other books, where I've encountered this, and it didn't end up ruining the book - just bringing it down to four stars. All in all, I can certainly recommend this book for a nice, romantic read, if you don't have any other must-read on your list.

This book started out well enough, however i felt that it wasn’t a strong plot. The main character, Madi didn’t grow as the story progress. She could of stand up more for herself and not depend on other characters to assist her and she should have demand Cole to explain why he had stop being her friend. Additionally, whatever happened to Madi’s overly involved parents that was watching her dating show and tweeting out their support? I thought the fight in the end to separate the two characters was weak and cliché and could of been better. The redeeming moment came at the end, I thought the scene at the dance was romantic.

I always love a good feel good, love/ hate story and this one did not disappoint. From the moment I started reading, I was intrigued as to how everything would turn out. First in the case of Madi’s boyfriend all the way down to the competition. To which, I must point out had all the “Bachelor” cliches—and I didn’t hate it. That is something coming from someone who doesn’t care for the show. Cole was sweet and I instantly liked him and I couldn’t understand how Madi didn’t see, like everyone else, that he was totally into her! If you want a book that makes you feel light and fluffy afterward, this is the book for you. I give it 5 stars because it did not disappoint, it was well written, and I connected with the characters. The only flaw I had was the cliche’s of the bachelor, but of course then it wouldn’t be a book based off the show if the cliche’s were not there. It is the few times that cliches work well and you can’t help but love it.

It was good. However, the lead, Madison, was such a disappointment throughout the entire book. I do not like crybaby leads . I also don't like when girls are portrayed as being uninterested in what someone's side of a story is. It's selfish. And the lead seemed selfish and bratty majority of the time. Even so, I can see this made into a movie. Stereotypical rom com.

This was not enjoyable for me. There were quite a few errors and the story just didn't have my buy in. The characters could have been developed a bit more. A disappointing read all around

I love a good pride and prejudice remake and to throw in the childhood backstory making it friends to more than friends as well, hit me right in the feels. The characters were pretty believable as high schoolers. Though I think Cole was actually one of the more mature characters despite his tendency to tease the girl he loves. I found the ending a be pretty sweet!
