I got the book and read it and I started the plan in late April, going gluten-free for 2 weeks. I looked into raw dairy but decided against it for personal reasons. I did get organic food wherever I could, and I ate healthy fats. I was doing this for several months but I was very hesitant to try to cut out my GERD medicine. I have been on various proton-pump inhibitors (PPI's) for about 10 years, the latest being rabeprazole twice a day. Finally, I realized that I hadn't had problems in the mornings, so I cut out the pre-breakfast dose. About 3 weeks later, I felt a GERD attack building in the morning before breakfast, so I took a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (ACV) in a glass of water. I was amazed to find that the pain went away almost instantly! (normally a GERD attack takes me 1-2 hours to calm down with medication). After that, I started taking ACV before meals, and even increased it to 2 tsps ACV. I no longer take the PPI, and I feel fine-it's been a little over a week. Even with the medication I took, i still had breakthrough GERD attacks, and my vocal cords are so irritated that if I try to sing I usually start coughing after a few notes. I'm hoping this will improve. What's amazing to me is that I didn't even do the whole program. I did drink bone broth and made fermented foods, but I couldn't stand mayonnaise with olive oil so I went back to store-bought. I also went back to some soy products that I like to eat. It still worked for me! In the 5 months since I started this, it has gotten easier to find "real food". People have begun to realize that organic food is better, and they are willing to pay a premium to get it. All the supermarkets now have organic produce, dairy and pastured eggs, and I have recently found pastured chicken (but not beef). The last time I went to the supermarket, I not only found kombucha, but 3 flavors of bone broth. I had been getting the bone broth mail order. I am very glad I purchased this book.

I was incredibly skeptical about this book since I've been through just about everything to get rid of my heartburn. I read review, after review, after review. Some bad, mostly good. I've been following this books guidelines for a week tomorrow and I've seen tremendous results. Not completely heartburn free yet, but I've been battling this for about 4 years. I can't expect overnight results. This book is real and honest and easy to understand. I'm not paid to write this from anyone. I'm simply someone who is sick of the heartburn. If you struggle with heartburn, acid reflux, or GERD, please check out this book. I can promise you, you WON'T regret it.Update: 12-5-16I have been heartburn free since about a month after I purchased this book. I followed the steps and have been off Nexium since July. This book is the real deal and if you're suffering from acid reflux or heartburn and feel there is no relief, please, please, give this book a try. You will be amazed and won't regret it. Thank you to the author for giving me this relief. I am forever grateful.

UPDATE: It's been more than 6 months (I actually stopped counting) without a single dose of omeprazole... I can drink coffee and red wine... following the guidelines of this books really changed my life.ORIGINAL:Ok, I've paid attention to what the author said, I've followed most of the suggestions the author made... and, after 12 years of taking Omeprazole daily and 20 years in total with acid reflux and gastritis, I've completed my first 5 days without any, yes ANY anti-acid. I just can't believe I am saying this, but it is true. Other reviews suggest that the high ranking is from the author's fanboys... well, 11 days ago I didn't even knew the guy existed.This guy says 30 days, it took me a third of that time to feel better! Thank you very much for sharing all this information in the form of this awesome book. And for the trolls saying that the book contained nothing new: please go away, I've tryed everything in the last 10 years and nobody ever told me what this guy has put together in such an understandable way.

I had been suffering from acid reflux and gastritis for six months before reading this book out of desperation. I had an EGD and the gastro doc said my irritation was likely due to NSAID use even though I wasn't a heavy user. I eliminated all NSAIDs and went on omeprazole for a few months, then switched to Nexium. There was no way I could come off those meds. I was still refluxing even while taking them, though it was no longer acid that was coming up because the PPIs had eliminated my acid.I already knew I had to be dairy-free, so I was reluctant to go grain-free. I decided to try gluten-free only for 3 days. Well, you already know from my rating that it worked! I came off the PPIs within days (though I probably should have waited longer for some extra healing). The next time I accidentally ingested some kind of gluten, it was obvious that had been the problem.I haven't tried the other suggestions yet, except we already knew to take plenty of probiotics (be careful - there are some with gluten in them). Check your medications and vitamins for gluten too. And I have to submit a disclaimer telling you to steer clear of Betaine HCL until your stomach irritation is healed.

I've been following the plan in this book all month. My husband has also, even though he's not overweight and doesn't have acid reflux. I have lost 10.6 pounds and he's lost 14! I am completely off of my omeprazole after 5 years. I am using HCL after meals containing a lot of protein and I'm having good results. I get the slightest feeling of heartburn once or twice a day but it doesn't last long and it's not debilitating like in the past when I've given up my medication. Also, I have granuloma annulare and my doctors have had no success in clearing it up. Since being on this plan, it has cleared significantly! We are going to continue doing this for the month of February. I'm going to try adding some grains but no gluten still, and see how that works. Thank you for writing such a helpful book. It's been a huge blessing for me!
