I cannot (will not tell you what I used this book for) but I will tell you I love this type of novel..a sassy heroine, a dark hero, and lots of sex. Read this book in one day. Miss Scott is the only author i will spend 3.99 on. I just love sassy heroines who can rescue dark heroes. I also like her books do not dwell on Balls, Ribbons, and such...sooo boring.
The title of this book states it all. The Duke is extremely depraved and not a sympathetic nor likable character. Crispin is wallowing in self loathing, self pity and is meeting his base needs. He has all but ignored his younger sisters, who have become a bit wild and unmanageable. Understanding that he must hire another governess for them, he advertises. What he doesn’t expect is Miss Jacinda Turnbow. She arrives under false pretenses, charms the sisters-and him. There is a betrayal, but by whom: Crispin, Jacinda or another?
I really liked Jacinda Turnbow’s character in contrast to Crispin , the Duke, depraved one. Becoming a governess to the Duke’s two sisters in order to uncover a traitor brings these two characters together. After uncovering a plot against Crispin, Jacinda finds the real traitor amid falling in love with Crispin. I liked this book very much and was sorry the story ended.
Crispin has been in hell since he came home from the war. He is called the Duke of Depravity and he needs a governess to subdue his wild sisters. Jacinda is being forced to work as governess in the Dukes household to save her father and herself from Dunn territory. He is accused of being a traitor and she is to find the proof. But as they get to know each other, they discover that all is not as it seems and Jacinda can save him in every way. This is very well written and an entertaining story.
I got to chapter 5, then just couldn't take it anymore. There is no storyline . How it got 4.5 stars I don't know. Seems like it will be very predictable with him trying to bed her, then she'll eventually give in, and save him from himself. I don't mind sex and romance at all, but all he thinks about is pulling up her skirt. And the mis pronunciation of her name every paragraph grated on my nerves. I would have given it a big fat zero if that had been a choice.

A damaged hero and a heroine with a secret. What’s not to love? Like all of Scarlett’s books, this one had an engaging plot line with well-drawn characters, lots of sexual tension, and a heartwarming conclusion. This author never disappoints.
story told in honest terms; banal yet real language and sexy, the way it should be. deep descriptions of feelings, both tragic and glorious. loved it from the first to the last page.
